About Us

I’m Matt, and I’m a bit of a hybrid. By day, I’m an embedded software developer, which means I get to spend my time crafting code and bringing innovative devices to life. But by night, I trade my coding hat for a guitar, and let my creativity shine through music. And when I’m not geeking out over code or shredding on the guitar, you can find me in the water, swimming laps and pushing myself to new heights.

As an embedded software developer, I’ve always been fascinated by the way things work. I love digging into complex problems and figuring out creative solutions. There’s something satisfying about taking a tangled mess of code and turning it into something elegant and efficient. And when I’m working on a project, I get completely absorbed in the process – it’s not uncommon for me to look up and realize hours have passed, and I’ve forgotten to eat lunch!

But music is where my heart is. I’ve been playing guitar since I was a teenager, and it’s always been my go-to stress relief. There’s something about creating music that just feels right to me – like I’m tapping into a part of myself that I can’t access any other way. When I’m playing, I feel fully alive, like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. And I love the sense of connection that comes from playing with others – there’s something special about creating music together, like we’re all speaking the same language.

And then there’s swimming. Ah, swimming! I’ve always loved the water, and there’s something about the sensation of weightlessness that just makes me feel free. When I’m swimming, I feel like I can escape the stresses of everyday life and just be in the moment. Plus, it’s an amazing workout – I love the challenge of pushing myself to new distances and speeds.

People often ask me how I balance my multiple passions, and my answer is always the same: I don’t! At least, not in the classical sense. For me, it’s all about finding the intersections and overlaps between my different pursuits. I’ve found that the skills I develop in one area often translate to others – like the discipline and focus required to excel in swimming also help me stay focused and driven in my work as a software developer. And the creativity and self-expression I cultivate through music have also influenced my approach to coding, allowing me to approach problems with a more innovative and outside-the-box mindset.

Of course, it’s not always easy. Some days I feel like I’m juggling a million different balls, and I’m not sure how I’m going to keep them all in the air. But the truth is, I love the variety and excitement that comes with pursuing multiple passions. And when it all comes together – when I’m coding a project that incorporates music, or swimming with a playlist that inspires me to new heights – that’s when the magic happens.

So that’s me in a nutshell – a swimmer, guitar player, embedded software developer, and all-around curious guy. I’m always looking for new ways to grow, learn, and express myself, and I’m excited to see where my passions will take me next.
